My New Favourite Design House: HALSTON HERITAGE.

Legendary American label Halston launched its hip diffusion line in 2009, and has since garnered a cult following amongst style-setters like Sarah Jessica Parker and Chloë Sevigny. The epitome of Studio 54 glamour, Halston Heritage evokes the brand’s timeless appeal reinventing archive pieces into effortlessly elegant silhouettes. Do like the original high-living Halstonettes, Bianca Jagger and Anjelica Huston and get retro-chic in asymmetric jersey dresses paired with oversized totes and clutches in silver, orange and cerulean.

Not Just Any Doorstep…

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

So, at the beginning of March I had an email from the lovely Charlotte Ward. Charlotte is a writer and was working on a Sex And The City article for Cosmopolitan magazine. She said she had found the photograph of me sat on the infamous stoop of Carrie Bradshaw’s humble abode and would like to write a small article about how I came about Carrie’s stoop – what happened before her stoop and what has happened since.

I was more than happy to oblige of course; so we had a telephone interview and that was that… Until the JUNE 2010 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine hit shelves this week of course;o

You can read the ‘Not Just Any Doorstep…’ article, by Charlotte Ward from page 121 onwards (I’m on page 122).

ENJOY!

(PS – Hands up who can’t wait for SATC 2?!)

James literally bought this XBOX 360 Arcade console for the latest and greatest Grand Theft Auto release. He also bought Grand Theft Auto seperately. He’s selling both together as a neat package on eBay. He has completed GTA and subsequently has no need for this XBOX now (we’re not console players, apart from the Wii, but that doesn’t count!) So yeah, its ACTUALLY brand new!!

So please please PLEASE help us in our funding for our big bad move to the big bad smoke!

Clearly this package is well sought after, still! So get you bidding guns at the ready! [Please pass on the details of this auction to your family/friends/related parties! Thanks!]

The Shoe Project: “BITTEN” Wedges, By Sarah Jessica Parker.

-“BITTEN”, by Sarah Jessica Parker, Wedges, $10.

I bought these wedges as an impulse by aswell, from STEVE & BARRY’s, New York City, June 2007. I was completely baffled by the sizes and the launch was massive! Mrs SJP was signing at the event aswell so there was a horrendous amount of press and queues like you’ve never witnessed in your life before!

The wedges were an amazing $10! I really expected the prices to be sky-high, but like the slogan t-shirts said “Fashion is not a luxury”, EXCEPT, I know it is, YOU know it is, and hell, SHE knows its is;o

BUT STILL, I very much enjoyed her low budget fashion range. It’s wearable and beyond affordable. What is there to criticise?

The Shoe Project.

I will endeavor through “The Shoe Project” posts reveal my love for the beauty and magic of SHOES!

Now I really never used to be a ‘shoe person’, not in the slightest and despite working on the Shoe Dept in Topshop for a living! But hey-ho, I’m now a full blown obsessive! I fear that my Sex and The City girls are half to blame for that! Damn you Carrie Bradshaw!

So with that in mind, I will be displaying the beautiful shoes I currently own and love, and the shoes I’m destined to totter around in, the shoes that are the fashion statement to an outfit, and the shoes ofcourse that will be on my infamous ‘to buy’ list; but I doubt I’ll ever be able to afford!

Up until, say a year ago, I wore my heels occassionally, mostly for a meal or a good nights worth of dancing.

Infact, once over I didn’t own a pair of heels, now thats all I own! And thank the lord for the invention! I’m a petite 5 foot something or other (ahem), and hey I need all the height I can get – my justification behind the recent purchase of my perfect Purple RIVA2’s 🙂

So onwards, and dare I say it… upwards!

Ms. Judy Pink.

Vivienne Westwood: Orb Necklaces.

Vivienne Westwood jewellery is classical, shows the signature style of the brand perfectly, has timeless beauty and isn’t (too) faddy, meaning it’ll go with everything (smart or casual!) and won’t go out of fashion next week. Which really you’d expect, considering the prices range from £50 onwards and upwards.

I absolutely adore the jewellery offered, I swoon everyday over the new items online and in my local Newcastle stand-alone store. Unfortunately for me however, I only own one piece of Vivienne Westwood jewellery, probably one of the more decadent pieces mind! Its the Bas-Relief Orb, with 3 rows of pearls choker necklace; priced at a mere £335! I am indeed very lucky, and probably shouldn’t complain, but hey-ho, I’m hard done by;o This beautiful necklace has 3 rows of graduated size pearls attached to a stunning 6.5cm Swarovski Crystal studded orb, the one I own is the same as the below; with the gold orb. This was a gift from my wonderful James for my 21st Birthday, so a very special necklace all round indeed.

-Bas Relief Choker – 3 Row Pearl, £335.00.

-This is me wearing my beautiful choker, after my birthday meal in New York City!

So, I’m not going to outline a few of the other orb pendant necklaces on my ‘to buy’ list. I’ll not include the ‘Touch Wood’ one in this blog, but thats DEFINITELY my next purchase this pay day without a doubt!!

-Silver Orb Locket, £190.00

This is certainly one of my faves! I think it’s so sentimental, and I’ve got such a ‘thing’ for lockets, theres something a little bit more magical about adding a photograph and keeping it close to your heart:) The locket is made entirely of sterling silver; open its bottom half revealing heart shaped inscription: ” +qu’hier -que demain ” meaning (I love you) more than yesterday less than tomorrow. Beautiful.

-Gold Tiny 3D Orb, £140.00.

This lovely 3D orb is on a really long chain, so its abit more casual for my liking, but I love the gold and the 3D orbs!

-Enamel Orb Pendant, £70.00

The classic orb. This orb is on my Bordeaux red purse, so I’d really like this necklace to match (theres also matching earrings too!) ALSO, abit off subject, but I’m really debating over getting this particular orb tattooed as my next tattoo! I feel a homage to the great Ms. Vivienne is imminent in some shape or form! Thoughts please!!!

-Limited Edition Bow and Asymmetric Valentine Heart Pendant, £90.00

This necklace was released as part of a Limited Edition collection for Valentines Day 2008, as were the matching Brooch, Earrings and Bracelet, however, I think it would make a welcome place in any jewellery box and match any outfit as abit of a statement piece. Careful though, its Limited Edition!

Available in stores, and online, http://www.hervia.com, http://www.viviennewestwoodonline.com.

ALLSAINTS – Kensington Tan Large Leather Handbag.

I absolutely adore this bag:) It was my first big splurge out on a handbag, costing £140. I say I splurged out, I should say James forked out for it:)

It’s actually grown better with age – as do most Leather totes, but this one especially just looks more and more wondrous with every trip out to the outside world.

The leather now looks really vintagey and worn in; I constantly receive comments about its graciousness! I definitely think it looks way more expensive than it was; clearly a good first investment!

My only problem? The bag is HUGE! I struggle to fill it, its that big! Therefore, when trying to overfill your massive bag, said bag becomes extremely heavy, thus taking a massive toll on my very petite shoulders! gah, the things we do for vanity eh??!

Take a look at the ALL SAINTS website for their current collection. www.allsaints.co.uk
