Who Wears ALLSAINTS: Jacqui Ainsley.

So you may, or may not know, that Jacqui Ainsley is the new lady friend of filmmaker and former Mr Madonna, Guy Ritchie. Jacqui playfully said goodbye to Mr Ritchie yesterday lunchtime wearing the AllSaints Deimos Dress and Sand Heels; while he sported an Andy Pandy pair of PJ’s!

The Ivy Restaurant And Bar – Round Two.

It’s my birthday tomorrow and James took me to The Ivy at the weekend to celebrate. We went this time last year; so we’ve now decided to make it a bit of an annual event for my birthday. (This time it took 8 weeks of desperately trying to get dinner reservations! AND we booked 2 months in advance! CRAZY). We had the most amazing meal, I just had to share!

To start I had the Buffalo mozzarella with foccacia, crushed broad bean pesto and vine tomatoes. While James had the grilled squid, chorizo and parsley salad. For mains I had Cornish lamb with sweetbreads & broad bean fricassée. I have to say, the lamb is served pink – this is the most amazing lamb I’ve ever ever aten. Absolutely amazing. I might also add, until I went back onto The Ivy website, I believed my lamb was served on a bed of Fois Gras… I just googled ‘sweetbreads’ and found this definition on Wiki. MENTAL. James had a rib eye steak, which has to be the biggest steak I’ve ever seen! It was huuuuuge! And beyond tasty! This came with a side of fries.

We then had an espresso each before squaring up the bill… Then we moved into The Ivy bar and had a round of cocktails.

Absolutely 5 star food with 5 star service. Brilliant. I can’t wait to go again next year! See you then The Ivy!

Clearly, I need this helmet and matching bicycle….

oh dear. oh dear. CHANEL have branched out into LOADS of sports ‘gear’. I ACTUALLY need a helmet and this is thee one.

While I’m at it I might ‘upgrade’ my bicycle (Betty) to this swish new CHANEL (Coco) bicycle.

Well, one can but hope…

I got this amazing CHANEL Tee for Christmas from James. It’s got a slashed neck which can sit off one/both shoulders; very pretty.

The credit crunch has hit our wallets, but not our humour or aspiration for that quilted CHANEL bag!

Topshop AMELIE Boots Vs Gucci BABOUSHKA Boots.

picture-35

My two favourites:) Amelie Topshop Boots and my Classic 2.55 Chanel Bag.

I wanted these Amelie boots for soooooooo long! I finally managed to get a pair that were on the last chance to buy section – size 3! Could not believe my luck! FATE. Absolute fate!

Anyway, I saw a graphic from last year Gucci Baboushka Campaign and saw a verrrrry similar pair of my Amelie ankle boots…

Gucci Baboushka Ankle Boots: RRP around: £980.00.

Topshop Amelie Boots, £75.00.

Obviously I’m going to be a little bit biased here, but I have to say, I think my boots are much much nicer than the original Gucci ones. The studs are way more subtle and sophisticated…

What do you think in the Topshop V’s Gucci war here?

Our first lady of fashion; please enter Gabrielle Chanel.

I am some what fascinated and, slightly obsessed by the life and loves of Gabrielle Chanel; known to most as COCO CHANEL.

Gabrielle Chanel the founder of French Fashion House, CHANEL, had the ability to capture what a woman really wanted to wear – to feel liberated and in luxury… at an expense of course.

Chanel was also very articulate; as can be seen from her many many enchanting and insightful quotations…

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

A fashion that does not reach the streets is not a fashion.”

“A woman has the age she deserves.”

“Don’t spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door.”

“Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.”

“Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”

“Fashion has become a joke. The designers have forgotten that there are women inside the dresses. Most women dress for men and want to be admired. But they must also be able to move, to get into a car without bursting their seams! Clothes must have a natural shape.”

“Fashion is architecture: it is a matter of proportions.”

“Fashion is made to become unfashionable.”

“How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone.”

“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.”

“I don’t understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little – if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that’s the day she has a date with destiny. And it’s best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.”

“I invented my life by taking for granted that everything I did not like would have an opposite, which I would like.”

“Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.”

“Innovation! One cannot be forever innovating. I want to create classics.”

“Since everything is in our heads, we had better not lose them.”

The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!”

“Where should one use perfume?” a young woman asked. “Wherever one wants to be kissed,” I said.”

All these quotations are so legendary and thoughful. Coco Chanel is a wonderful individual who lived a very fulfilled and supreme life… leaving other peoples lives supreme and very fulfilled… including my very own life. Thank You Madame Gabrielle.
