Not Just Any Doorstep…

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

So, at the beginning of March I had an email from the lovely Charlotte Ward. Charlotte is a writer and was working on a Sex And The City article for Cosmopolitan magazine. She said she had found the photograph of me sat on the infamous stoop of Carrie Bradshaw’s humble abode and would like to write a small article about how I came about Carrie’s stoop – what happened before her stoop and what has happened since.

I was more than happy to oblige of course; so we had a telephone interview and that was that… Until the JUNE 2010 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine hit shelves this week of course;o

You can read the ‘Not Just Any Doorstep…’ article, by Charlotte Ward from page 121 onwards (I’m on page 122).

ENJOY!

(PS – Hands up who can’t wait for SATC 2?!)

James literally bought this XBOX 360 Arcade console for the latest and greatest Grand Theft Auto release. He also bought Grand Theft Auto seperately. He’s selling both together as a neat package on eBay. He has completed GTA and subsequently has no need for this XBOX now (we’re not console players, apart from the Wii, but that doesn’t count!) So yeah, its ACTUALLY brand new!!

So please please PLEASE help us in our funding for our big bad move to the big bad smoke!

Clearly this package is well sought after, still! So get you bidding guns at the ready! [Please pass on the details of this auction to your family/friends/related parties! Thanks!]

Dorothy Perkins Floral Tea Dress.

-Black Ditsy Floral Print Teadress, £35.

I think this tea dress is a lovely shape, really flattering to all figures. And what a bargain price too! £35.00 is great, doesn’t blow the budget; and this dress is machine washable:)

Available online at http://www.dorothyperkins.com, and instores.

‘Floral Frocks’ Collection by OASIS.

I came across this collection in a local magazine recently. Well, I saw the below, amazing, ‘Lily Lane’ dress and searched and searched and searched and searched for it’s stockist… and I couldn’t find it anywhere! I’d also been into a local Oasis store, spoke to the manager, who opened up her ‘style file’, and the dress wasn’t anywhere to be seen. So I rang several other local stores, and low and behold, nobody knew anything about the collection, or my beautiful ‘Lily Lane’ dress! I say mine, because one day soon it will be:D SO the search went on…until I finally came across an article outlining the collection.

Firstly, the collection is due to touch down in stores, and online, ‘mid summer’, so who knows when that will be! (If you have any idea, please do let me know!).

-“Lily Lane”, 50s Prom Dress, £80.00, by OASIS.

All of the frocks are vintage inspired but designed with a contemporary twist; with the original inspiration coming from the Museum of Fashion Bath Spa.

-“Rose Riley” Bandeau Dress, £80.00

-“Violet Valentine” Sun Dress, £UNKNOWN.

-“Poppy Parker Jones” Sun Dress, £UNKNOWN.

All the dresses are simply charming, and rather beautiful indeed. The latter 2 ofcourse, are fabulous for hiding lumps and bumps. I’m definitely going to be buying the first two:D One for James’ Graduation, and the other for a friends wedding in July – perfect.

Until the collection launches, I thought the below offering from Oasis at the moment was really pretty; so feminine and flattering; but too long for little old me!

-Floral Print Rose Corsage Dress, from Oasis, £80.00

My only concern is that Oasis’ dresses are creeping up in cost! Since when was a pretty frock£80? scandalous! I will however dip into my purse for the two aforementioned, they are really nice afterall!

Kate Moss for TOPSHOP: The Launch, Today, Tuesday 18th March.

Since my previous post on the range, Here , the range has launched….

I didn’t manage to have a look at the range, DESPITE being at work all day today – but I have to say, its realllly disappointing from looking at the TOPSHOP.com website.

The preview image showed the ‘Top Five’ items…

I really liked the look of the embroidered dress, 2nd left. But the dress looks really shapeless and much whiter on the website. I would have preferred it to look like the above image really, it looks much more vintage-y and quirky. The dress below looks rather like a dress from H&M to be honest, and with that in mind, theres no justification for the £60.00 pricetag.

-Kate Moss for TOPSHOP Embroidered Tunic Dress, £60.00.
As far as I’m aware this tunic dress didn’t even come into stores this morning;I have a feeling it’s going to be a repeat of the Spotty One-Shoulder Dress from the very first collection… where we only got a few sizes in each colour, and they leapt from the shopfloor as fast as they came in, leaving everyone sitting on eBay for hours on end!

-Kate Moss for TOPSHOP, Daisy Print Tea Dress, £60.00

As for this dress, as always, it looks wonderful on Kate, and especially so in Ibizan sunshine! But as before, it looks cheap and not work 60notes. Infact, I’d go as far as to liken it to Primark!

-Kate Moss for TOPSHOP, Yellow 50s Style Dress, £45.00.

-Kate Moss for TOPSHOP, Aqua 50s Style Dress, £45.00

Now this dress I REALLY like and hope its in work tomorrow still. I’m torn between the Aqua and the Yellow though! Which to go for! They’re both lovely and perfect for a Summer Wedding I’m attending! I can’t decide at all, I don’t have a single dress thats Yellow, or Aqua, so I need an informed decision I think…

-Kate Moss for TOPSHOP, “IBIZA” Sandal, £25.00

-Kate Moss for TOPSHOP, “IBIZA” Sandal, £25.00

These sandals are really good value for £25.00, they’re 100% leather and will go with everything. At least theyre on par with Topshop anyway.

-Kate Moss for TOPSHOP, ‘Top Hat Tee’, £20.00

-Kate Moss for TOPSHOP, Spotty Bandeau Dress, £150.00

Yes you read right, £150.00 for the above dress! I don’t understand why, apart from it probably being from her Limited Collection (around 250 pieces are made and that is it… each piece is numbered). But STILL. I can guarantee that ASOS.com will have a copy in the next couple of weeks….

I’m quite attracted to this print, for some reason… I’d probably wear this t-shirt if not for the low cut neck line, I much prefer round higher collars.

I shall indeed have a good look at the collection tomorrow in ‘real life’ and hopefully my doubts will be reversed! But as a customer be aware you are limited to purchases through the range; one item, in one size, from each category. In other words, you can only get one dress for example, in one size; this is to reduce the amount of items ending up on eBay for instance, and to be fair to all customers, considering the limited amount of sizes available in stores.

*Also available in NAVY.*

I don’t understand why these shoes aren’t selling in my store. I think I’ve sold literally 2 pairs since they arrived a few weeks ago. The heel height is perfect and they look so pretty with dresses and along with jeans. Theyre perfect for wearing for a dinner-date, going dancing, or even just wandering around the shops! So please buy these lovely shoes…. and unusually, they have a male name! (TOPSHOP shoes always take female names/object names, ie, Lollipop or Shuffle). Coincidently, my beautiful fiance is called James, I think thats why I’m so connected….

I absolutely love these lace up platforms. They look amazing on! I imagine they’ll be extremely fabulous in Summer too! The look fantastic with skinny jeans, but also with think black tights and a pretty 1940s tea-dress. I’m sure they’ll look superb with bare legs also, unfort, I’m just not that brave! hehe.

Kate Moss for TOPSHOP, Spring/Summer 08.

TOPSHOP have finally released a very sneaky (and limited) sneak preview into the next installment of the Kate Moss for Topshop collection.

The range finally hits stores this Tuesday, 18th March, 9am. Be aware that some instore graphics and leaflets were misprinted and said Monday 18th March, but low and behold, you have to wait until the very next day – TUESDAY.

The collection is said to be an eclectic mix between Ibiza to Miami to India (and beyond)- taking in every single culture for inspiration and style.

The 5th installment of Kates range incapsulates pieces of a “Bohemian Traveller”, with floaty fabrics and aztec prints. Whilst she also encompasses chiffon dresses and blouses in a palette of ‘dusty hues’, circa 1940. There is also some Gypsy inspiration in broderie anglaise and scarf prints appearing on dresses and tops. Theres also talk of prom dresses, and Kates signature floor length red carpet glamorous gowns, hopefully another successful summer for the Kate Moss and TOPSHOP team!

Grazia has had a sneakier peek whilst the Sunday Telegraph (or it could be Times) is also running a lengthy feature. If you cant get to either of those publications I’m afraid you’ll just have to wait until Tuesday morning… I’m sure it’ll be another manic morning, despite the lack of hype this time!

The range will be available to view and purchase from on Tuesday 18th morning (dont quote me but its normally 6am-ish!) Whilst the stores will open at normal time, 9am, with most stores and concessions in department stores offering the range too.

Ms. Judy Pink.

The Shoe Project: T-Bar Shoes.

So for this post I’m giving an idea of the T-Bar shoes I own, and love. T-bar’s are fantastic, the offer a little bit more support with the straps, than you get with normal shoes; and whats more, they’re totally this season! I really like the mid-height ones with pretty Tea-Dresses for a circa 1940s feel, or team a super high pair with your favourite skinny jeans a la Kate Moss!

HEELS, MID-HIGH.

SUZIE – RED, from TOPHOP, £55.

I’ve had these shoes re-heeled a dozen times! I’ve literally worn them out, but they’re still the comfiest pair of shoes I’ve ever bought, I just wish I’d bought them in all the colours when we had them in at work! But thats sod’s law for you! Thats why they sold out so quickly, the comfort factor. They have a lovely sized heel and the colourways were really good. In fact, these shoes match my Vivienne Westwood bag PERFECTLY! (see below!)

-Top of the Eiffel Tower in Suzies and complete with my Vivienne Westwood bag.

SUZIE – BLACK.

-Loves young dream… of perhaps just our feet! The concrete outside Moulin Rouge.

HEELS, HIGH.

SAMIA – Cobalt. TOPSHOP, £55.

These are my ‘Paris Shoes’, bought specially for our romantic trip to Paris! These shoes sold out like wildfire – so I’m tremendously glad I bought them when I did. The colour is beautiful, and goes with much more than I would have thought. Also, the gold buckle detail to the front gives a uniqueness to the shoe. With wear, these shoes have grown more character and have a real vintage feel, very 1940s chic!
